Jesse (male) b. 1856, d. 1912 Clinton Co., IL, md. 1876 Julia Ann Holstein b. 1858, d. 1923.  Her  obituary from the Flora Journal-Record, March 22, 1923:

To John and Mary Holstein a daughter, Julia Ann Holstein, was born October 12, 1858. She was united in marriage to Jesse Mayfield Taylor, in Wayne County, Illinois, November 5th, 1876. To this union five children were born, all are living, Fred Taylor of this city, Besse Maxwell of Denver, Colo., Ernest and Earl Taylor of Flora and Anna Carpenter of St. Louis, Mo.  Mr. and Mrs. Taylor moved from Mill Shoals to Flora in 1893. She lost her companion, April 18, 1912, when the whole town was shocked by his sudden and tragic death, which brings to mind the thought, how many go out in the morning, that never come back at night. Her unwavering faith in God helped her to bear her heavy burdens, and in this last sickness of nine weeks duration, when at times her sufferings were intense, she never lost faith in prayer and trusted Jesus to help her bear her suffering. She always had a smile and cheerful word for her friends and always endearing, loving words to her children. The funeral services from the Methodist Episcopal church on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. W.I. Terhune, pastor of the Flora church.  Interment occurred in Elmwood cemetery. Many were the floral tributes from friends and loved ones.
