June 1860 on 1900 census - which really doesn't work, but the month is a little better.
1910 census she is listed as being 20 which would put her birth in 1890.
1920, 1930 & 1940 census indicate she was born in 1881 - which is probably correct.

1898 - Ben Gwaltney served as corporal in Company D, 6th Regiment of Missouri Infantry during the Spanish American War.
